When I heard about the annual Pug Parade, I imagined their cute, wrinkled little fuzzy faces wiggling around St. Armands Circle and I knew I had to check it out. And, the event did not disappoint! This was the 14th annual Pug Parade to raise money for the Sarasota County Humane Society, and it was billed as 'St. Pug-trick's' Day' continued. There were old pugs and young pugs; pugs wearing over-the-top sequined costumes and others who were au naturale. About 40 contestants sashayed down the cat....er...dogwalk, impressing the judges and wowing the crowd as they competed for such prized titles as 'Miss Congeniality', 'Most Original Costume' and 'Best in Show'. I'll reveal 'Best in Show' to you tomorrow. (He made a fabulous royal impression.) But, first, let me introduce you to Tug, a handsome 3-year-old Pug from south Sarasota County who donned his best Irish attire for the event and then proceeded to size up the competition.

Oh, what fun. Wish I could have been there with you! That face in your header is just so pugstacular! I'll be waiting for the grand finale tomorrow.
That header shot is too funny! What a great time!
Terrific header. Guess Sarasota is really going to the dogs~
Great shots!I had read about the parade but we were already going to Ft Myers for the wiener derby. Glad you had a good time.
Oh, my. How... cute?
Happy belated St. Patrick's Day! Too cute for words that doggie photo of yours!
Oh yes, I adore pugs and often look after them in my business. Your photos are superb of these two and I am mad about your header. Well done.
Tug the Pug, very handsome.
Fantastic photo! Love the pug header
Sounds like a lot of fun and I adore that header photo.
This is funny, SRQ. One of our favorite local restaurants for comfort food is The Corner Pug, and I had planned to show some reflections from there on Friday. They have hundreds of photos of pugs all around the joint. At the last minute, I decided I didn't like the photos from the Pug, so I took my "self portrait" and posted it instead. Maybe I should have gone with the pugs . . .
