Some days you just need to unwind by the time the clock strikes five. This did the trick last night! Mother Nature put on quite a show for me at Turtle Beach on Siesta Key....the sky was filled with a dazzling array of hues backlighting a patchwork of wispy clouds. Right when I thought it couldn't get much better, a chunk of driftwood washed ashore. It was kind of like a dream....which is what I tried to capture in this image. (Enlarge it and you'll feel like the water is about to wash over those spidering cracks in the sand, right onto your toes.) The shooting was so good, I'll probably post a couple more from this series over the next week or so. In the meantime, I'm disappointed to report I hit a snafu with the SDP poll. 'Taking Photos Outside of Sarasota' was in the lead by two to one, when the poll inexplicably reset itself and indicated no one had voted. ((sigh)) Thanks to everyone who participated yesterday. For what it's worth, I'll keep the poll up for a few days if you're interested in voting again.

Ahhh beautiful! :-)
What a beautiful photograph. I feel so much positive energy from it!
Such a beautiful shot. I think I need to share this with my FB friends who love photography. Thanks for the soothing sunset.
Truly a fine photograph...one of the nicest beach shots I've seen. The colors are simply magnificent and your composition is so strong bringing all the elements together perfectly and yes, the driftwood adds the zing!
Thanks for stopping by Ocala DP. Re your question: No, most of these are local folks; our snowbirds arrive a bit later in the year or just after the new year...
Ah, long exposure. Are you using a graduated density filter, too? I've been wanting to play with one of those. Perhaps a trip to the camera store is in order when I get my tax refund!
Beautiful shot!
This is a special beach shot. Great sky, great water.
Gluten free at Quaker Diner? If the recipe wasn't written before 1930, I don't think QD has heard of it.
Fantastic! I like how the sky and water seem to mirror each other...
Loce it!:)
Well, that should be LOVE IT!:)
Wonderful image.
looks like mother nature wanted to give you a show. I voted again, no reason why you cant expand your horizons.
