Tumblin' Down

SDP 4-20-12
Demolition of the old Sarasota Police building is underway. What a sight to see the walls tumblin' down! A technique known as wet demolition is being used.  That means a worker sprays water on the demolition area to keep the dust down.  The building was over 50 years old and by the time it closed in 2010 it was rather antiquated. The new police headquarters (which I showed here) can be seen in the background with the greenish-blue windows.

Its fun to watch things get destroyed, lol. I bet a lot of bad guys are happy to see this place go.

This -the top part of the photo- instantly reminded me of 9/11. I can't help it...

It is rather amazing to think that something so sturdy comes down so easily. Hope they are not putting in a parking lot!

Very impressive photo. You caught the essence of destruction! I wonder if the voters would approve of a tax increase now for a new police headquarters? :-)
