Banana Rama Produce

SDP 1-25-12
I stumbled across this produce stand in rural Sarasota County, when I went for a drive a couple of weekends ago. Between the rusty tin roof, weathered paint and American flag flying, it was just too irresistible for me to pass by. It's called Bananarama Produce. And even though it's located way out in the country, they're quite busy selling beans, bananas, oranges, tangerines and more. Linda, the co-owner, didn't mind me snapping pics and even was kind enough to give me a tangerine plucked from a nearby tree which was quite tasty. Thanks!

Sometimes one can get really good produce and fruit at these places...sometimes not so good. The test is the tomatoes. Do they taste like tomatoes or do they taste like the rot they sell at Publix - what I call pretend tomatoes?

I like this. Really my kind of place.

An authentic little throwback to Olde Florida. A nice place and a nice photo.

Jackson Labs must have been shopping itself everywhere. Naples (Collier County), Sarasota, Connecticut. You escaped with your dollars.

I think the flags in Hartford City Hall are there to recognize some of the nationalities present in the city. Like most big cities today, Hartford has taken in immigrants from dozens of countries.

I'd stop there.

And now I'm humming a Bananarama song. Not fair.

... and I bet the price was right too.
