There seems to be a teensy bit (just a smidge) of angst in the blogosphere regarding the outcome of the recent SDP poll and the concept that the entire SDP staff will now consider photo opps outside of Sarasota (but within the Sunshine State). To give you an idea of what we're talking about, I present to you today's photo. These are two ospreys which I spotted recently on Boca Grande, a beautiful island about 70 miles south of Sarasota. This photo very well could have been taken in Sarasota, since there are lots of ospreys here. But, under the original strict guidelines of only posting photos from Sarasota, this photo never would have made it into the blogosphere. Who could pass up a post like this? And yet, these types of posts will be few and far between. After all, this is Sarasota Daily Photo.

A little travel is good for the soul. I would have hated to miss this photo just because of some old guideline. (What happens when you go on vacation? Are we left with nothing?)
Argghhh but of course not.
Yet, what happens to Versailles Daily Photo if I show photos of... Paris that's a 15 minutes train ride away? That's what my second blog is for!
Ok, ok, I'll stop! :-)
There used to be a sort of rule that it was "1" photo a day. Since I joined back in the day when Eve didn't wear clothes, I have seen one post with 40 pictures. I like to post what I shoot in my backyard and have been consistent about it but when I want to post something from somewhere else I post it.
I call 'mine my backyard and beyond' for when I wander away from the city lights. I have no problem. I sleep well at night. Let 'em come and get me! hahaha ps the osprey is a wonderful bird.
I don't always post pictures taken in Tallahassee, but no one seems to mind! I'm glad this one made it onto the blog.
Technically, Boca Grande is the pass, I think, and Gasparilla is the island. Took me a while to figure that out, and I was confused by the huge GI painted on the water tower. :) But it's a nice picture no matter where it was taken.
