Sarasotans like independently owned businesses. Off the top of my head, I can think of five independently owned bookstores. And, then there's this business: Sarasota Hardware. Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown, it's been part of Sarasota since 1934 -- that's 77 years! Quite impressive for any business! With regard to this photo, I like the reflection of the parked car. It just seems to add to the small town feel of the scene.

I love roaming around in hardware stores. This looks like one mighty fine one. They have a great supply of -- well, hardware!
You are so lucky to still have the small independent stores, ours have all been taken over by the big guys. We had a little hardware shop in my little local shopping area, no more, was b]pretty upset about it! I agree with you the reflection of the car does add to the feel if the image.
I'm probably a Sarasotan then... :-)
There's so much to see in this shot, it's great!
I love this store! It's spacious inside with a wide assortment of anything and everything you might possibly on a chance may need for any projects you have. It's great.
It looks like a high end hardware store, with fine displays of expensive door knobs and locks. If you go in there and say "I want a thingamabob that fits into one of those long things, you know?" can they find it for you?
I agree...don't know of an independent hardware store in Ocala. And the only "independent" book stores I know of are basically "used" bookstores.
I think our community is the poorer for it, too.
You're lucky!
A great shot and I really like the door handles lined up in the window.
