Welcome to JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers, the winter home of the Boston Red Sox. The ballpark opened last year and this was the first chance I had to attend a game here. We sat on the outfield berm for a chilly night game but, I must say, compared to other stadiums in the Grapefruit League, this place seems to lack ambiance. (Gosh, Red Sox fans...please don't think less of SDP for this review.) It was quiet, with few vendors...overall, it just didn't seem to have much character. Perhaps you have to be a diehard Sox fan to fully appreciate it. Nevertheless, we had a great time. Well, the good thing about being so busy recently is that I have lots of photos from the past few weeks stockpiled: owls, eagles, beaches...oh my! I prefer to post pics shortly after I take them (it's the old news hound in me constantly considering timeliness), but, with the SDP Editor-in-Chief's blessing, some of them will be rolled out over the next several weeks. TGIF...and I'm linking to Skywatch Friday.

The Red Soxs are wasting their time. The Blue Jays are going to win the World Series:-)
I watched a Twins game some years back in Fort Myers. It was probably the same stadium, right? Great fun.
Not a baseball fan, but enjoyed this great shot you shared,
Atmosphere can be so darned intangible but we sense it so strongly. Lighting? Vendors? The scent of foods? The quality of the sound? Comfort or discomfort?
Glad the Editor conceded on timeliness. I'm sure your "oldies" are goodies. . .
I love it! I took my husband to his first ever baseball game last Summer in Lancaster, PA. He loved it!!!!!
The field is supposed to be the same as Fenway Park, though the stands are definitely Floridian. I have never seen much chemistry at any spring training park. The players don't have much intensity and the fans are mainly out for a day in the sun. Even though I am a big Red Sox fan, I won't hold your tepid review against you.
Your photo seems to have captured more ambiance than was actually there! That sky is absolutely amazing, so soft. I'm a Red Sox fan too (though now they've actually won some World Series, their underdog charm has lost luster:)
That's the worst news ever!
