This young buck was hanging out at Myakka State Park just before it started raining. As we watched each other for several minutes, I kept looking for other deer. (Being a Michigan native, I know firsthand that deer rarely travel alone.) Sure enough, when he started to trot away, a doe suddenly came into view. The same ranger who I talked to about the silly great blue heron told me that 8-point and 6-point bucks were recently spotted in the same area. I ended up seeing 11 deer that rainy afternoon -- the most I've ever seen here in Florida.

What a great shot! You got the front AND the back. lol We had a mama and baby deer walking around our neighborhood last week. It was broad daylight and they were just strolling up the street. So weird! I wanted to
take their picture, but I knew just opening the front door would scare them off, so I just enjoyed watching them.
This photo proves it pays to have your camera with you at all times. Great shot.
He looks like he is posing for you! Beautiful shot. I once saw a deer near my sister's house in Maryland cutting through a busy intersection while we were waiting at a traffic light in the middle of town. I couldn't believe it!
What a wonderful portrait! Your focus is perfect - simply lovely.
Fabulous shot!
You just couldn't ask for a better pose SRQ.. how funny that you see deer and I see kangaroos, couldn't get more different if we tried oui!
That is a beautiful shot! The DoF is perfect!
NICE! The weather made for crisp lighting, too.
