This is what the great egret in yesterday's photo was looking at: two ospreys roosting on a channel marker in Tampa Bay. Oh…and maybe that bridge back there too. That incredible span is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which connects Pinellas and Manatee counties. It was a beautiful day to shoot the bridge when I was there, so I'll have a few more pics to share in the near future. (And, perhaps by that time I will have looked up some interesting factoids about the Skyway.)

Brewin'
Although the rainy season (and accompanying hurricane season) doesn't officially begin for one week, you can see thunderhead clouds trying to form into a late afternoon storm over Tampa Bay on Anna Maria Island, a short jaunt up the road from Sarasota. The only thing that materialized last weekend when I took this photo was a refreshing breeze. Soon, though, the regular afternoon storms will arrive and we'll hear warnings about the devastation this beautiful water (and wind) could cause, as we enter hurricane season. More on that some other time. For now, let's enjoy this scene.
