A bit messy...slopping seagrass on that spoonbill, but nevertheless, those shades of pink are very pretty! Spotted this roseate spoonbill Monday evening on Sarasota Bay -- a fun and unusual sighting in the summertime. Typically, the roseate spoonbills have migrated north by this time of year. Whatever the season, it's always a thrill to see one!

Just a moment to check there is something edible down there!!! Wow, a super photo.
An unusual bird to my eyes, but then we don't have them here.
I have never seen this bird before but it is beautiful. Fantastic shot.
Uncommon bird for me..
Thank u SRQ for the post.
Beautiful photo! Love the catch light!
Fascinating bird in great light. I'd certainly be thrilled to see one!
Your photo makes me want to know more about this bird, esp information about its bill.
Well done, SRQ. I saw a couple of spoonbills last winter in Naples. They aren't very common down there.
I would absolutely loved to see one SRQ. We do see spoonbills but minus the pink colouring!
Oh nice work SRQ, the Monarch butterflies are exquisite.. gorgeous shot for the theme.
