Still No Oil Here!

I'm pleased to report there still is NO OIL on any of the beaches here in the Sunshine State.  News reports of tar balls from the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico washing ashore in Key West were wrong.  There are thousands of miles of pristine beaches in Florida, including Lido Beach, where this photo was taken.  The seagulls are swooping so close to these beachgoers because the family was feeding them Cheetos (of all things).  I would discourage you from feeding birds on the beach.  They're not used to being hand fed by people and they can become quite pesky.

It's good to hear there's no oil. My husband and I are coming to Key West for Memorial Day. But I have a feeling it's only a matter of time until our beaches and coastlines are spoilt. It just seems like so many things have gone wrong in this case. It makes me mad and sad.

That's a wonderful photo of a beautiful beach! I can almost hear the seagulls! Welcome to the CDP blog community!

They actually become a real nuisance after people do this.

Cool photo! Glad to hear about the oil. I just heard on the news today that oil was getting to some Florida marshlands. :(

Really? There's no oil anywhere in Florida! None. Louisiana is starting to get some in their wetlands but nothing in the Sunshine State.

I like the shot of all the seagulls, but I wouldn't want to feed them like that, at least not without wearing a hat:)
