Every spring I look forward to seeing the jacaranda trees in bloom -- the lavender petals give the skyline a wonderful infusion of color. I spotted this tree on my way to work and made a point to capture it during lunch. The flowers bloom only for a few weeks. By the end of May they'll be gone and the tree will be so stark you'd never guess it could produce such stunning flowers.

Greetings! Thanks for stopping by Ocala DP! I love Jacaranda trees...used to play golf on the Jacaranda Golf Course in Plantation when we lived in South Florida...lots of Jacaranda trees there.
Beautiful photo, too!
Thanks! I'm seeing a lot of lavender petals on the ground...kind of a sad sight, knowing that all the blooms will soon be gone. Enjoy 'em now!
Wow, they're beautiful. If it weren't for your post we would never have seen them. Thanks!:)
Thanks, Gwyn. I'd never experienced the jacaranda tree until I moved to Florida. Now, they're one of my favorite things about spring here.
My husband is a SRQ native and we lived there for a couple years (we now live on the east coast of Florida). I always love, love, loved the blooming trees in the spring. I especially loved them in somebody else's yard because they are messy, LOL
For some reason, Blogger won't let me use the blog address I want to post with, so I am using my alternate blog to post.
