Summoned

It's a first!  I've been summoned by the Sarasota County Clerk of Courts for jury duty.  And, just like that...I've been excused.  The notice indicated that I should call the courthouse the night before to learn if my services were still needed.   Well...they weren't.   That's unfortunate.  I was looking forward to it.  I'm told, though, that once you're summoned it happens frequently.  We shall see.

I have only been called once, took 1 hour and was let go. I also wanted to serve, just to see what it was like.

Once I was summoned, I kept getting summoned. Was only picked for one jury, however.

I get called about every 3-4 years or so. It's usually a day of waiting and waiting and more waiting until they decide they don't need you.

I was never called in my life before I moved to Mississippi and now I've been called twice. I was chosed to serve on the jury the first time. It was very a boring case. And a lot of going back and forth from the courtroom to the jury room and such. But it was interesting to take part in the judicial process!

Wow, I could only be so lucky to be excused, I always get called in!
