3 Day Fun

I stumbled across a cool event where this big shoe was running around.  New Balance in Sarasota held a  rally in their parking lot for people participating in the Komen 3 Day Walk for the Cure at the end of the month.  As walkers finished an 18 mile training walk, they were greeted by this cute ginormous tennis shoe and a party, including a d.j. and a yummy looking spread donated by a local restaurant and brewery.  During the 3 Day, people walk 60 miles over three days to raise money for breast cancer research. To learn more about 3 Day events all over the country visit www.the3day.org.

Why are there so many mascots this time of year? At any rate, still interesting looking shoe!

How's your week so far?

Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

This is something I've never seen... a giant running shoe! But if it's helping raise awareness for breast cancer, then I'm all for it! :)

Clever idea, but its eyes look insect like and a little creepy.

Ha! I have a lot of respect for the people who climb into those things. Gotta be stuffy in there..

Walk for the Cure is such a great cause. I wonder how you get chosen to wear a shoe as costume for a day? Audition? Interview?
