Theme Day: Electricity

SDP 3-1-12

This month's theme day in the City Daily Photo community is electricity. Of course, there wasn't a lightning storm to be found when I needed one, so I meandered down to the Palm Avenue Garage which opened about a year ago in downtown Sarasota. Four electric vehicle charging stations are located on the first floor.  Just pull up and plug in!  I was really hoping a car would be plugged in when I arrived to take this photo, but alas, no such luck.  As an aside, Stephen King, the bestselling author who lives nearby and whose wife drives an electric car, was here awhile ago to help promote electric car usage and the convenience of charging stations. If gas prices continue to rise, these spots will probably soon find users! I presume there is somehow a fee involved ???

I have heard about charging stations but never seen one. It looks rather easy to do. Great choice for theme day.

Neat idea for the theme day. I haven't seen anything like this around here. :)

Verrrrrrry interesting! I imagine we'll be seeing more and more of these in the future, esp. if the price of gas continues to escalate!

I am curious to see how the need to charge electric vehicles gets handled. For a while, I expect a wide variety of solutions until someone comes up with a winner.

I'm glad there wasn't a car in the way SRQ I like this image a lot, it kind of looks like a pair of futuristic robots, which I guess in a way they are!
