Watery Wednesday: No Oil

This white ibis was hunting in the early evening along the pristine shore of Sarasota Bay at South Lido Park.  Not only is its beak impressive, so is its claw.  What a goofy looking bird, yet so photogenic!  Still no oil sightings in Sarasota, thank goodness.  Visit Watery Wednesday to see more images from around the world.

This is great. We don't get them in the UK as far as I know. I wonder why they chose Ibis as the name of a hotel chain in Europe.

The first bird to show up after a hurricane. Thus, the U of M mascot.

I live in Sarasota too and really enjoy following your blog. It's hard not to get photos of all the interesting bird we have here! I started doing Watery Wednesday too! Great shot of an Ibis! We usually get them in our yard by the bunch! :D

Great capture. Sad to think how the oil will effect beautiful scenes like this.

I much prefer this ibis to the one I see at football games! Nice shot.

It is odd looking, and I don't think I have ever seen a foot like that on a wading bird! I love the waves!!

Yes this one looks a bit goofy but yet the colours are beautiful and definitely an interesting pose you caught it in too! Well done!

Good shot! So glad no oil. I'm wondering how long that'll last.
