Reaching for the Sun

I was pleasantly surprised to see these sunflowers along Lockwood Ridge Rd. in Sarasota because I don't recall seeing many here in the Sunshine State.  These are located next to a landscape nursery, but unfortunately, there isn't a place to safely pullover nearby.  I thought about cruising by, but the combination of brilliant flowers, bright blue sky and that delightful puffy cloud was just too much to resist.  The block I hoofed in heels in the 92 degree heat was worth it.

You crack me up! I wonder if I'll see you some day hoofing in heels to take a photo along side the road! It is a gorgeous photo, and you placed the cloud perfectly! :D

I've seen sunflowers at the farmer's market and in our neighborhood. My daughter brought home one she had planted in school when she was Little...it didn't grow that big though!

Yes definately worth it! The cloud adds a nice backdrop. Reminds me of the time I was determined to get a close up of an old railroad bridge and had to trespass over a marshy wasteland.
