Laurel Fig

SDP 5-4-11
I understand this is a Cuban laurel fig (according to an arborist friend). What a nice looking tree...although, it didn't seem to create as much shade as you would expect. I love how the gentleman sitting next to it is color coordinated with the bright leaves.

Lots of shade to its right. :) Very handsome tree.

I wonder if it actually produces any figs? My grandmother was from Sicily and she always talked about the fig trees there. I don't know if they are similar to the Cuban variety, but I can see how they would be memorable. Beautiful tree!

This is a wonderful tree, SRQ, so nicely coordinated with your gentleman. Florida has some superb multiple-trunked and multiple-rooted trees like banyans and mangroves.
