Where were you nine years ago when the terrorist attacks happened? I was in Tampa and was dispatched to Sarasota, where President George W. Bush was sitting in an elementary school reading to children. There are many, many things about that day that I will never forget, among them: cruising south on I-75 listening to erroneous radio reports about car bombs exploding outside the U.S. Capitol, and looking up at the sky, which was eerily devoid of airplanes until just before the Sarasota exit, when Air Force One suddenly shot overhead in a near vertical incline. Let's remember what happened nine years ago today...who did it and why. God bless America.

I remember. Nice memorial.
Yes unforgettable, vivid memories and a reminder for me to be grateful for many things. Thanks.
I'll never forget....I was backing out of my driveway and I had the Howard Stern Show on the car radio. Someone called in about a plane hitting the Twin Towers. I went back in the house, turned on the TV and pretty much cried the rest of the day.
Very appropriate, well-caught and well-composed. I was at my computer at home in France when my son called from London and told me to switch on the TV, then unbelief …
I was a freshmen in college and in my dorm getting ready for class. My boyfriend called and told me to turn on my radio. I asked what station and he replied, "Any of them".
Actually I don't want to remember because every time I do, I get an anxiety attack, the kind that makes me have to breathe deeply and think of something nice, like children laughing or waves crashing on the beach. That's personal though and just to say that no one has forgotten, at least not among the people I know.
I was working in my daughter's school here in Sarasota. She was in first grade and they were going to get to see the president read to the kids on the closed circuit TV direct into the classroom. Her teacher got a call from her husband telling her what has happened. It was a sticky situation with the president being in town and how to handle it with the kids.
Nice photo. I was on the treadmill in the gym watching TV with no sound, not really understanding what had happened until I saw the screen crawl. I couldn't finish my workout after that. I remember dressing and heading on into work and listening to Peter Jennings describe the tower falling on the radio. :-(
A very emotional and highly emotive day for everyone around the world. I was in Manila watching the news on TV. All I wanted to do was hop on the first flight out to the US, but no luck.
Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
