Here Today...

This is a bird of paradise in my front yard.  It's always such a pleasant surprise when they bloom because  I seem to forget they come to life in the oppressive summer heat.  Oddly enough, this one disappeared the day after this photo was taken.   I hate to think I have a B.O.P. thief in the 'hood, but I'm not sure how else to explain it.

Those plants are beautiful. We have Bird of Paradise here too, but they are a totally different species.

Oh so pretty! Our neighborhood planted tulips this spring in the park by my house. When they bloomed someone cut them all and took them for their own use! meanies!

Definitely a thief. They don't just fly away.

Here is Arizona we have lots of the Mexican Bird of Paradise. A few lucky people have the tropical or Hawaiian type like you do. They're beautiful enough to steal, that's for sure. Like most tropical flowers, the blooms usually last a long time.

Wow! I've never seen one of these before....then again, seeing oranges grow on trees is unusual for my neck of the woods....
