Concrete Critter Trail

Follow these manatees and sea turtles down and around the sidewalk from Mote Marine Laboratory and you'll end up at the Mote hospital where they care for sick dolphins, sea turtles and even the occasional whale.  Mote is a non-profit which not only nurses ailing sea critters, but does a lot of oceanic research with sharks and coral reefs.  Since the oil spill, the staff also has been conducting a lot of water quality tests.

I've tried a couple of times and the photo won't show on this one. Sounds interesting though. I love anything to do with ocean animals.

I'm sure this place will be busy for awhile yet.

Aaaw, that's very cute! Though I've never seen a manatee in person.

Sorry I haven't visited sooner. But many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

This is terrific.I should see if we have a similar marine animal rescue here. I love that someone had the idea to paint the "critter trail" very imaginative.
