Green Heron

I spotted this green heron clawing its way across the rocks at Bird Key Park in Sarasota. I love that elongated beak and maroon chest!

That's a cool shot! I'm impressed you knew what he was called! :D I haven't seen one of those yet, but if I do I will know what it is! We used to go to Bird Key Park all the time. My husband used to race jet skis and would practice there every weekend!

Lyndsey: When I was trying to identify the black crowned night heron, I saw a photo of a green heron and logged it in the 'ol memory bank.
