Theme Day: Umbrella

The subject for this month's theme day, for those of us in the City Daily Photo realm of the blogosphere, is 'umbrella'.   Of course, I instantly thought of rain, which led me to think 'Well...it's not the rainy season here'.  (That would have been rather pedestrian anyway.)  For those enduring a cold and snowy winter, I really wanted to brighten your spirits with a beautiful shot of a colorful beach umbrella firmly planted in the sand along Lido Beach.  But, alas, I haven't had the time to be beach bound.  So, instead, I offer this pleasant slice of life photo.  Lots of restaurants in Sarasota have outdoor seating.  Even in the "cooler" winter months here, it's nice to have a table umbrella to block the sun while you're enjoying a meal.  This is an Italian restaurant called Salute located on Lemon Ave. in downtown.  I've eaten here a couple of times and it's been quite tasty.  The Farmers Market was going on last Saturday when I snapped this photo, so it was especially busy.  To see how others interpreted 'umbrella' click here.

It's so cold here in Ocala this morning, I'm tempted to hop in the car and head for Sarasota! Nice theme day shot!

I used to work at a place near Fruitville Road. Oh how I miss those days of travel and expense accounts. I'm sure all the fine places I used to frequent are long gone but this place looks like my kind of place. If you really want to take me back, there is a cool circle in the bay somewhere. I think I made the rounds there pretty well over the years.

Less electricity is expended to power the multi-hearth furnaces during the roasting process. The cleaner primary moly concentrate offers the roaster more flexibility. The higher spec concentrates can be blended with lower spec concentrates to upgrade the overall product, or the roaster can refine the higher spec material separately if the end-user requires it.
5. The Trend - Greenwash Me. It’s all about the 'green' or lack of it. This time I think it’s going to last. Consumers are being bombarded with messages about the environment. We all are media creatures and the media loves anything 'green.' You may not be aware that consumers are on their third wave of environmental awareness. The last two influences died out once the reality set in that it cost the consumer more to be 'green.' But retail drivers such as Wal-Mart and Tesco are holding fast to their line in the sand. The standards they established and are trying to implement will drive 'green' initiatives down through the entire retail chain. Whether it’s a true mandate or a political ploy, consumers are awash in a sea of 'green' information. Additionally, the packaging of products with environmentally friendly materials is being scrutinized.

Looks like a nice place to relax on a warm afternoon.

About the killing on my blog. They dont know if the ADA was killed by someone he was prosecuting. Sounds like it was almost gangland style. Ski masks, kevlar vests, shot 9 times in a car with no plates, and the shooters got away.

One of the WONDERFUL things about southwest Florida is the ability to goof around outside all winter long under 'brellas like this one.
