Sushi Flight

Spending time at the eagle nest in North Ft. Myers, I've learned you constantly have to look up and around for Ozzie and Harriet.  When they arrive on the scene, it's usually out of the clear blue sky and with little or no warning.  That was the case in this photo.  I just happened to look in the right direction as Ozzie appeared nest-bound.  If you look closely, you can see the fresh catch of the day dangling from his talons.   It must have been a sizeable fish to see it that well from such a distance.  What a sight!  I'm linking to Skywatch Friday.  To see other submissions click here.  Happy Friday everyone!

That is an amazing capture! What a magnificent bird. We've bald eagles not far from us but my point and shoot isn't up to the task:) Love the mid-flight sushi.

I check out the nest on the webcam every day around 2:45 now. That's when the light is best and sometimes just before sunset. The other day all four of them plus the fish were in the nest. It was quite crowded! As ugly/cute as the babies are, I'm really most fascinated by the parents. They are truly amazing. You are so lucky to be able to visit them and take these great pictures. Awesome!!!

Nice shot. I used to get the hawks flying over my head but they had other birds in their talons.

I'd say that's about as fresh as you can get with sushi! Beautiful shot. You've captured the grace of an eagle in flight.
