For almost two years, I've been documenting gasoline prices every month at the same station here in Sarasota. It seems we're seeing an upward swing right now. Prices have gone up 14-cents since December. One year ago, prices were 6-cents cheaper, which seems a bit hard to believe. And, that's one of the reasons I've been committed to this monthly exercise. With so many other things to think about, it's difficult to remember month-to-month and year-to-year where gas prices have been.
In other news, Nik Wallenda will walk over U.S. 41 on a thin high wire at 11 a.m. today in downtown Sarasota. It's going to be quite an exciting day. Godspeed, Nik!

This is an interesting project.
I guess we shouldn't complain too much, considering the prices Europeans pay for their petro. But, I certainly wish the prices would go down a bit more. We are seeing an increase here, too.
Wish I could see Nik Wallenda, too. Enjoy.
will you be on hand to document the walk? Our gas has been hovering between $3.09 and $3.19 for the last month or so. Strange to think its cheap.
I remember vividly how my father kicked up a fuss at a gas station when the price went from $0.26 to $0.76 a gallon. And they went to self serve and stopped checking under the hood at every fill up. What is the breaking point before we all turn in our SUVs.
Gas in the town where I normally go for groceries, pharmacies and everything else pretty much ranged from 3.17 to 3.22 as of yesterday. Saturday I went to a small town in the other direction just 14 miles away and it was 3.07. You bet I filled up!
I watched Wallenda when he walked over the Fall (on TV). It was really exciting. You're in for a treat!
PS: Gas prices are going up in Canada today too. And they're already much higher than what you pay in the US.
Great idea of yours. Just be glad you aren't purchasing petrol over here :). Enjoy the show. Hope the weather is good for it.
This is a good idea. It goes up radically on the west coast. It seems that Chevron has regular events at its refinery that will suddenly cause extravagant jumps (though why it must happen within hours of the event remains a mystery - wouldn't it affect the next delivery instead?).
Did you photograph Nik's walk today? I did watch it on the news.
