Atlas

We all feel like this occasionally, don't we?  Here's to a relaxing, weight-of-the-world free day.  (I snapped this yesterday afternoon on the grounds of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota while thinking about what I need to get done before taking some time off.)

Gotta hold up the world and be nude doing it? There's got to be an easier job.

Atlas has a difficult job and I think it's getting more difficult - the weight of the world is increasing - even as we gain more expertise and develop new technologies. We find these things do not guarantee the answers to our problems.

This is a lovely statue of an interesting mythical figure,

Funny! Before I read your comment I was thinking "Ugh! That's how it feels to get out of bed in the morning these days!" . . .And worse still to have to organize life before taking time off.

You are stimulating some introspection today, at least for those of us not named Birdman.

I need to find some time to get up to Sarasota to see the Ringling Museum. It looks like a place I would like.

You are getting some time off? Great! You deserve it.

Yes, I do indeed! Lovely shot. I'm not the biggest fan of the pre-vacation crush, but it's so worth it:)
