Flutter By

SDP 2-27-12
This Zebra Longwing was one of many butterflies fluttering by me during my recent visit to Butterfly Estates.  Between it being captured in-flight, soaring past that oversized leaf, and hovering over those smaller leaves, this photo almost has a 3-D feel to it. Fflutttterrrrrrr! And, this concludes our visit to Butterfly Estates.  Staff is already looking forward to returning!  (Prior to the next visit, though, perhaps a requisition for a macro lens will need to be submitted to the SDP Chief Operating Officer.)

It looks like it's just hovering there in the stillness of the garden. Oh,yes, I definition think management should consider a macro for its ace photographer!

Your butterfly series have given me great pleasure. This is an unusually marked one, I think.

You're right about the 3-D illusion. This is one terrific photo, too. Maybe you should become an official flutterby photographer!

You do such a good job with your existing lenses, I suspect that SDP COO will not be very supportive.
