Family Digs

Welcome to Urfer Family Park in Sarasota!  I've been wanting to visit this park since it opened a couple of years ago, and finally went there this past weekend.  Here's the background:  Sarasota County purchased 55 acres from the Urfer family and turned it into a wonderful recreational area with trails, picnic areas, playgrounds as well as wide open space.  (Believe it or not, the park is adjacent to a busy road.)  It's a great area for families....which leads me to today's photo. The pedestrian bridge is closed due to a resident family.  And with that little tease, the SDP staff is busy behind the scenes gearing up for another series.

Happy to hear that the purchased land is being put to good public use.

Gosh, I'm not sure I get it...

I'd guess the resident family is a bunch of stinkers like skunks...or maybe stinkers of another kind, raccoons...or perhaps rattlers...or...I dunno, politicians?

I have no idea what is going on, but I'll come back and see what happens next!

I too was in the dark yesterday why the bridge was closed because of a "resident family." I thought it was a people family and I found it strange that the county bought the land but allowed a family to close it for their own purposes! Thanks for clearing up the mystery! Ca't' wait to see more and I hope Henry comes home soon.
