Take 2

SDP 11-3-11
This is what the parking meters look like in downtown.  Although this is my third post on meters, this is the first time I've shown you what they look like.   I posted this photo just before the meters were unveiled last May.  And, then, I showed you this shot when the meters were temporarily bagged after being operational for six weeks.  Well, now they're back.  Based on community feedback, the program was overhauled, including moving meters to different streets, modifying the cost (cheaper during off-peak months) and providing more signage for users. Now, the meters seem a bit more palatable to business owners and customers.  In fact, today marks one month since the take 2 do-over and it seems business as usual downtown.

Good idea, I need to show the ones in V. And their horrendous prices.

If you were a visitor would you know the meter goes to that spot? I would think seeing the P here sign would just mean I can park there, not a tow away zone. The meter is facing the wrong direction. I guess if every stall has that I could get the hint. I think your Spartans will win out. Looks like the hard part is over, but I wouldnt mind seeing them in the TicketCity Bowl.

Ok, that looks intimidating. Is that credit card only or do they still take quarters? Life is getting so complicated!

What won't they think of next? I hope they don't come to Ocala. I've just recently figured out how to put a quarter in one of the old kind of meter!

Actually, they're really easy to use. They take nickels, dimes, quarters...and credit cards. And, you don't have to walk back to your car to put a receipt on the dashboard. How about that?!
