Why We Live Here

Lots of meteorologists have been pointing out that Florida, with temps in the 80s, is the warmest place in the country this week.  For my blogosphere friends Up North…this is our version of a snowman!  The SDP Junior Editor stumbled across this adorable sandman at Siesta Key beach yesterday. Believe it or not, this quality shot was taken with a phone!  By the time, I got to the beach to shoot the sandman with my DSLR it was getting dark…

…and this was the scene: beautiful night…clear and in the mid-70s.  I never found the sandman. But, with this sunset, it really didn't matter.  Happy Hump Day!

That's cool and I love the second shot. But I'm a winter girl so I do prefer the real thing!

What a beautiful snowman made of sand! Some people think it's just not Christmas without snow. Me? I think it's awesome, but unfortunately, it's been really cold down here in Alabama. Almost cold enough for snow! What's up with that?

A real sandman, lovely, specially his smile, and your ocean seascape, beautiful. Cheers from Jean

Both photos are wonderful and the snowman delights me as I sit here with an outdoor temp of -6 degrees.

I wish I had your temperatures this week!

Love that snowman! I have been back in FL since Monday, and each day since got within one degree of setting a new HIGH temp record for the day. So, why do the northerners stay up there in the cold? Beats me.

Pretty cool snowman (no pun intended)or should I say sandman. I missed your return to blogging photos again but I glad to see that you are back. I have added you blog to Blogs I Follow on my sidebar. Keep on clicking.

We've had the real thing here (snow) but not enough for snowmen yet, thankfully. Would rather a walk on that beach any day, enjoy!

Awwww. Cute! I love that sandman. And the sunset was spectacular! I wouldn't mind sinking my toes into some of that sand about now.

Hi, SRQ. Hope you had a good Christmas. I read today that Ozzie and Harriet are expected to hatch a pair of eaglets as soon as today. Exciting!
